THE
AFRICA CARIBBEAN HISTORY MONTH IRELAND "NOVEMBER" AHMI 2017
AHMI 2017 to celebrate the history, contribution, participation,
heritage and impact of all African's Caribbean's Living in Ireland on a yearly bases in the
month of "November" for remembrance of important people and events in
the history of Africans Caribbeans in Diaspora.
In 2010 myself Susuana Olatunji Komolafe, initiate the Celebration AHMI, standing for what I believe and now, there is changes around the world with the use of the Word African, like African –Americans.
The initiative of celebrating "Africa (Caribbean) History Month Ireland" and used the term OR word OR recognizing the continent Africa and wide cultural heritage ‘Africans’ to denote ‘color’ or ‘black’ persons.
I’m well aware that I have deployed the term um-problematically given the on-going changes of seeing Africans as Black People, we are Africans first, not Black People, I'm African from Nigerian with black/dark skin complexion wish am proud to be.

We will also have African Author from Northern Ireland @ the event. A Book Fair, reading and a chance to become an Author.

The Pavers Award is part of the "Recognition Award for Africa-Caribbean History Month Ireland Award" As part of our celebration of Africa History in November to project, profile positive image of our communities and impact social changes, We have an "AHMI Recognition Award" and we are introducing our new brand "Pavers Award" to recognise and celebrate the "Way Pavers" here in Ireland in all the different profession and field of life. The Way Pavers Award will seek to recognized leaders in the communities paving way for others, in different profession and fields, recognized people innovating new ideas, and going all the way to support those making a difference in their communities which increase the scale of the project, profile positive impact and make real progress.
Our first Recognition Award was given to "Alan Shatter" for his contribution to "Integration in Ireland".

JOIN US ALSO AT THE AFRICA FASHION WEEK IRELAND
The fashion week is also use as one of the main activities during the month of November to celebrate, enhance our culture through our fashion sense and promote the creative minds of our people home and abroad. This fashion show will feature designers from all different culture of Africa showcasing their different fabrics to the world and will also welcome Western designers that are happy to embraces the use of African fabrics. The event presents itself therefore as an opportunity for the designer both well established, student, homemaker tailors and upcoming to increase their experience and become competitive, recognised locally in Ireland, be present and recognised internationally. The event will last for 5 days. The format envisages the direct involvement of web users and major networks through the activities of the social media team of AfroFashionie projecting the Afro Fashion Show Ireland & African Fashion Week Ireland. The Initiative is created by Susuana.O.M Olatunji Komolafe, and the Project Manager for 2017 is Annie Waithira Murugi, alongside with the other members of the team.
